Point Recovery Course for the Italian Driver's Licence

AIM

To allow the recovery of points deducted following violations of the Italian Traffic Code.

TARGET POPULATION

The course is aimed at motorists holding an Italian A-B-B+E driver's licence who have had points deducted from their licence and particularly at:

• travelling personnel/managers/executives of companies who due to problems of availability or for personal reasons need courses targeted to their needs
• motorists wishing to participate in quality courses

WHERE

The courses are normally held in Milan. They are held exclusively in the classroom and there are no outdoor driving exercises.

COURSE DURATION

The course lasts 12 hours to be attended over a time span not exceeding 2 consecutive weeks and allows the recovery of a maximum of 6 points.

COURSE CONTENT

The course programme for the recovery of the 6 points includes the following subjects:

• road sign system (1 hour)
• standards of conduct on the road (4 hours)
• causes of road accidents (2 hours)
• psychophysical state of the drivers, with particular attention to the abuse of alcohol or drugs (2 hours)
• provisions governing penalties (1 hour)
• important elements of the vehicle for road safety (1 hour)

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

The Traffic Code states that the course must not have more than 25 participants; in our case, the ideal number is 10-12 participants.

INSTRUCTORS

The course is taught by an authorized teacher of traffic theory.

ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATE

At the end of the course, an attendance certificate is issued.

COST

To be determined depending on the place and number of participants.

MINISTERIAL AUTHORIZATION

SAFE DRIVING Italy has obtained a regular ministerial authorization to hold courses for the recovery of points deducted from the Italian driver's licence.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

• It is not possible to enrol in the course without having first received the communication from the Department of Land Transport that the points have been deducted
• It is not possible to attend more than one course for each point deduction notification
• Participants are not allowed to attend two courses at the same time
• The course allows the recovery of 6 points only
• Anyone losing any lessons must recover the sessions not attended with special recovery lessons
